Largo do Talho

A historic space that preserves the cultural roots of Sorocaba. Located in the heart of the city, the Municipal Market was built there, where many enslaved people worked daily. But, in their free time, the Largo (Square) came alive: it was the meeting point of the city’s first capoeira practitioners, transforming that space into a territory of freedom, rebellion, and Black identity.
